Overview

SmartDV’s AVSBus 2.x Slave IP is a silicon-proven, fully featured Adaptive Voltage Scaling Bus slave solution purpose-built for Point of Load voltage regulator SoC designs requiring next-generation adaptive voltage scaling bus slave functionality with multi-slave bus support and enhanced security. Fully compliant with AVSBus v2.0, the current and latest standalone AVSBus specification published by SMIF, it delivers complete slave-side AVSBus functionality with transport layer independence, enabling flexible deployment across diverse physical and transport layer configurations while delivering the sub-microsecond voltage command response latency demanded by modern high-performance power management designs.

As the device-side counterpart to the AVSBus 2.x Master, the IP handles complete slave-side voltage command reception, status response generation, and asynchronous alert signaling within multi-slave bus topologies. Its enhanced security features, transport layer independence, and clean separation from SMBus physical and transport layer constraints give POL voltage regulator and power management IC teams a production-tested, spec-complete AVSBus v2.0 slave implementation suited for the most demanding next-generation adaptive voltage scaling system designs.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance. Its broad SoC bus interface support and clean host interface enable fast integration and confident design bring-up across a wide range of process nodes and target applications.
