Overview

SmartDV’s SDIO Verification IP is a comprehensive solution for verifying the SD Input/Output interface, the SD Association standard enabling high-speed data I/O with low power consumption for peripheral connectivity over the SD bus in mobile, embedded, and consumer electronics applications. Fully compliant with SD/SDIO Specification Versions 1.0 through 8.0 and SD 9.1, it supports complete verification of SDIO Host and Card components across SDIO cards, SD Memory cards, and SD Combo cards, SDIO-aware and non-SDIO-aware host controller configurations, 1-bit and 4-bit SD bus modes and SPI bus mode, all UHS-I and UHS-II speed modes, all SD memory capacity classes from SDSC through SDUC, SDIO Bluetooth Type-A and Type-B specifications, eSD Embedded SD addendum, TCG, RPMB, command queuing, boot functionality, and comprehensive error detection and reporting.

SmartDV’s SDIO VIP supports UVM, SystemVerilog, and Verilog, and integrates seamlessly into diverse verification environments. It is simulator-independent and compatible with all leading EDA simulators, providing flexibility across simulation platforms.

With low speed, full speed, and high speed mode operation, single byte, single block, and multiple block transfer support, read wait operation, asynchronous and synchronous abort mechanisms, card ownership protection, cache operation, function extension support, video speed class, lock-unlock and erase features, bus-accurate timing, built-in functional coverage, and a complete test suite, SmartDV’s SDIO VIP enables verification teams to thoroughly validate SDIO interface designs for wireless connectivity modules, mobile SoCs, IoT devices, embedded systems, and consumer electronics requiring flexible SD bus peripheral connectivity.
