SmartDV’s NFC Verification IP is a comprehensive solution for verifying Near Field Communication interfaces, the 13.56 MHz short-range wireless communication technology enabling contactless payments, access control, transit ticketing, device pairing, and tag reading across billions of deployed devices. Fully compliant with ISO/IEC 18092 (NFCIP-1/ECMA-340), ISO/IEC 14443, ISO/IEC 15693, and the NFC Forum Digital Protocol specification, it supports complete verification of NFC PCD (Proximity Coupling Device) and PICC (Proximity Integrated Circuit Card) components across all four defined data rates, active and passive communication modes, Type A and Type B, NFC Forum Tag Types 1 through 5, all defined command sets, multi-activation, chaining, and comprehensive error injection and detection.

SmartDV’s NFC VIP supports UVM, SystemVerilog, and Verilog, and integrates seamlessly into diverse verification environments. It is simulator-independent and compatible with all leading EDA simulators, providing flexibility across simulation platforms.

With configurable timing functions covering guard time, frame delay time, frame waiting time, and waiting time extension, re-transmission of corrupted messages, frame error correction, glitch injection, bus-accurate timing, built-in functional coverage, and a complete test suite, SmartDV’s NFC VIP enables verification teams to thoroughly validate NFC interface designs for smartphones, smartwatches, payment terminals, transit readers, access control systems, IoT devices, and industrial asset tracking applications.

  • Multi-Activation and Chaining Support – Supports the Multi-Activation feature allowing the Initiator to hold multiple Targets active simultaneously for anti-collision and multi-tag scenarios, and the chaining feature allowing the Initiator or Target to divide information that exceeds a single block across multiple consecutive blocks.
