SmartDV’s Microsecond Channel (MSC) Master IP is a silicon-proven, deterministic serial interface solution purpose-built for automotive SoC designs requiring precise, low-latency control of multiple smart power and sensor devices. Fully compliant with the SAE 2005-01-0057 MSC specification and MSC Plus, it implements the complete master-side MSC interface with support for both upstream and downstream channels and multiple external power device connections, making it an ideal solution for engine control units, injector drivers, and other safety-critical automotive subsystems.

What sets this IP apart is its comprehensive MSC Plus support, which extends the standard MSC feature set with Manchester encoding, a two-layer command and data frame architecture, UART bit transmission at the start of frames, and bit rates up to 100 Mbit/s. Combined with its asynchronous baud rate adjustment, programmable upstream frame length, built-in spike filtering, and 8-to-1 SDI multiplexer, it gives automotive SoC teams a feature-rich, production-tested master controller that goes well beyond basic MSC compliance.
