SmartDV’s Microsecond Channel (MSC) Device IP is a silicon-proven, deterministic serial interface solution purpose-built for automotive SoC designs requiring precise, low-latency chip-to-chip communication between smart power devices and baseband controllers. Fully compliant with the SAE 2005-01-0057 MSC specification, it implements the complete device-side MSC interface with support for both upstream and downstream channels, making it an ideal solution for injector drivers, ignition controllers, and other smart power and sensor ICs in automotive ECU designs.

Engineered for the deterministic timing demands of automotive power and sensor applications, the IP supports both triggered and data repetition transmission modes alongside a comprehensive register set including Command, Diagnosis, Status, Configuration, and Control registers. Its configurable register lock and unlock capability and built-in error insertion support make it well-suited for safety-critical automotive designs where precise control, diagnostics, and fault simulation are essential.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance.
