Overview

SmartDV’s RTC (Real-Time Clock) IP is a silicon-proven, low-power timekeeping solution purpose-built for SoC designs requiring accurate time, calendar, and alarm management across embedded, automotive, IoT, and consumer electronics applications. Implementing a complete hardware clock with seconds, minutes, and hours counting, calendar functionality, and configurable alarm interrupt generation, it provides a reliable, integration-ready time reference for any SoC requiring persistent timekeeping and scheduled event management.

Designed for the practical integration requirements of modern embedded SoC designs, the IP supports both up and down timer counting modes, configurable time register values, hold count capability, and independent interrupt enable and disable control. Its lightweight, fully synthesizable architecture makes it equally well-suited for power-sensitive IoT edge devices and high-reliability automotive and industrial control systems requiring accurate time and event scheduling.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance. Its parameterized architecture and clean host interface enable fast integration and confident design bring-up across a wide range of process nodes and target applications.
