SmartDV’s RapidIO Endpoint Controller IP is a silicon-proven, fully featured packet-based interconnect solution purpose-built for SoC designs requiring high-performance, deterministic chip-to-chip and board-to-board communication across wireless infrastructure, defense, high-performance computing, and embedded systems applications. Fully compliant with RapidIO v4.1 and backward compatible with RapidIO v2.2 through v4.0, it delivers complete endpoint controller functionality across 1x, 2x, and 4x physical lane configurations supporting lane rates from 1.25 Gbaud to 6.25 Gbaud and up to 25 Gbps per lane at 100 Gbps per port in Gen4 configurations, providing a proven, production-ready interconnect foundation for the most demanding embedded fabric designs.

Designed to address the full breadth of RapidIO endpoint requirements, the IP supports I/O system operations, message passing via mailboxes, and globally shared distributed memory access, alongside complete packet type support, flow control, out-of-order transaction delivery based on prioritization, and critical request flow ordering. Its support for both 8-bit and 16-bit device IDs, 34 and 50-bit addressing, 8/16-bit parallel physical interfaces, and all capability and configuration status registers gives embedded system teams a production-tested, spec-complete endpoint controller that integrates cleanly into complex multi-node RapidIO fabric designs.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance.
