Overview

SmartDV’s MIPI BIF Slave IP is a silicon-proven, fully featured Battery Interface solution purpose-built for smart battery and embedded power management applications requiring reliable, standardized communication with a host power management chip. Fully compliant with MIPI BIF v1.1, it implements the complete slave-side BIF interface over a single-wire connection, enabling comprehensive battery monitoring, control, and authentication for a wide range of mobile and portable device designs.

As the device-side counterpart to the BIF master, the IP handles the full command set from the host controller including Reset, Power Control, Interrupt, Burst, Multicast, UID Search, and Device Specific commands, giving battery IC and power management teams a production-tested, spec-complete slave implementation that simplifies integration and accelerates time to market. Its optional glitch suppression capability further enhances signal integrity in noisy mobile environments where single-wire bus reliability is critical.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance. Its parameterized architecture and clean host interface enable fast integration and confident design bring-up across a wide range of mobile and embedded process nodes and target applications.
