SmartDV’s ARINC 429 Controller IP is a fully featured Mark 33 Digital Information Transfer System (DITS) solution purpose-built for SoC designs requiring reliable, standards-compliant avionics data bus communication across commercial aviation, defense, and aerospace applications. Compliant with ARINC Specification 429 Part 1-19, it delivers complete ARINC 429 transmitter and receiver functionality supporting both low-speed (12.5 kHz) and high-speed (100 kHz) operation, bipolar Return-to-Zero encoding, and the full range of ARINC 429 data types.
Designed for the rigorous requirements of commercial avionics and defense applications, the IP supports 32-bit word transmission containing 24-bit data and 8-bit label fields across all standard ARINC 429 data types including Binary (BNR), Binary Coded Decimal (BCD), Discrete, Maintenance Data and Acknowledgement, and Williamsburg/Buckhorn file transfer protocol. Its support for duplex two-way communication in Maintenance Data and Acknowledgement mode, comprehensive error detection, and unidirectional bus architecture with single transmitter supporting up to 20 receivers per wire pair gives avionics SoC teams a production-ready ARINC 429 implementation suited for flight-critical avionics communication.
Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations. Its parameterized architecture and clean host interface enable fast integration and confident design bring-up across a wide range of avionics process nodes and target applications.
