Overview

SmartDV’s APB to AXI Bridge IP is a silicon-proven, fully featured protocol bridge solution purpose-built for SoC designs requiring seamless APB-to-AXI connectivity across embedded processor, peripheral controller, and high-performance SoC designs. Fully compliant with AXI4/AXI3 and AMBA APB4/APB3 specifications, it translates APB transactions into AXI transactions with configurable data bus widths, address bus widths, and address space per AXI slave, enabling APB masters to seamlessly access high-performance AXI slave resources.

Designed for the practical integration requirements of modern mixed APB/AXI SoC designs, the bridge maintains full conformance with both APB and AXI signaling rules, supports configurable endianness on both interfaces, and includes a configurable data phase timeout for automatic error response generation when AXI slaves are unresponsive. Its support for simultaneous write and read transaction acceptance with sequential AXI execution gives SoC integration teams a production-tested APB-to-AXI bridge.

Built for design flexibility and silicon efficiency, the IP core is highly configurable for both ASIC and FPGA implementations, with a strong focus on area optimization, power management, and peak performance. Its parameterized bus widths, configurable address space, and clean integration interface enable fast design bring-up across a wide range of process nodes.
