SmartDV shines at ICCAD 2024 with custom IP and ecosystem-based collaboration

SmartDV, the world’s leading integrated circuit intellectual property (IP) provider, participated in the “Shanghai IC Industry Development Forum and China IC Design Industry Expo (ICCAD 2024)” in Shanghai on December 11–12. The SmartDV China team brought a full range of design IP and verification IP (VIP) demonstrations and an engaging talk, and is committed to helping Chinese customers build differentiated advantages with custom IP while deepening cooperation with Chinese ecosystem partners to promote the development of the IC design industry.

本届ICCAD在中国集成电路设计产业聚集区核心城市上海举办,吸引了超过7000名专业人员参与,为历届ICCAD大会之最,再次彰显了我国集成电路设计产业的蓬勃发展态势。与此同时,中国集成电路设计产业的持续发展也吸引了众多IP厂商的参与,在本届大会有三个与IP直接相关的全天分论坛,并吸引了大量的芯片设计企业代表和行业人士参会。
This year’s ICCAD was held in Shanghai, a core hub of China’s IC design industry. It attracted more than 7,000 professionals—the largest turnout ever—highlighting the sector’s robust growth. The continuous development of China’s IC design industry also drew many IP vendors. This year’s conference featured three full-day sub-forums directly related to IP and welcomed a large number of chip design company representatives and industry participants.

中国半导体行业协会集成电路设计分会理事长魏少军教授在本届大会上的主题报告揭示,2024年中国集成电路设计产业全行业销售收入预计将达到6460亿元(约910亿美元),继续保持了两位数的增长,但是2024年的增幅低于WSTS预测的同年全球半导体产业总体营收增长率19%,为2004年来20年间首次发生。而随着各种具备AI功能的智能终端和智能汽车等应用在我国快速发展,正在带动了中国芯片设计产业链的创新,但是新的增长将更多得益于创新的发展模式。
A keynote by Prof. Wei Shaojun, Chairman of the IC Design Branch of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, noted that 2024 revenues for China’s IC design industry are expected to reach RMB 646 billion (approximately USD 91 billion), continuing double-digit growth. However, the growth rate is lower than WSTS’s 19% forecast for global semiconductor revenue in 2024—the first such divergence in 20 years. While rapid adoption of AI-enabled devices and smart cars is spurring innovation across China’s chip design value chain, new growth will increasingly come from innovative development models.

For automotive intelligence, SmartDV recently licensed its SDIO IP family to RANiX for integration into V2X products. At this year’s ICCAD, beyond showcasing its technologies and products, SmartDV actively promoted ecosystem-based cooperation and held many exchanges with domestic and international partners including RISC-V IP providers, high-capacity FPGA vendors, PHY IP providers, hardware emulation and EDA tool vendors, and IC design centers. These collaborations are already bearing fruit and are expected to become a new development model in 2025 and beyond.
