Overview

SmartDV’s USB Type-C Verification IP is designed to verify reversible, high-speed USB interfaces that support data, power, and display over a single compact connector. Fully compliant with the USB Type-C Specification, this VIP enables accurate validation of cable orientation detection, plug-in events, role swapping, VCONN operation, and alternate mode negotiation in conjunction with USB Power Delivery (USB PD).

The VIP supports major verification languages, including SystemVerilog and Verilog, and integrates seamlessly with UVM, OVM, and VMM methodologies. It is simulator-independent and compatible with all leading EDA vendors’ simulators, allowing flexible integration across simulation environments.

With configurable Downstream Facing Port (DFP), Upstream Facing Port (UFP), and Dual Role Port (DRP) agents, support for CC line monitoring, orientation switching, connection state machines, and built-in protocol checkers, SmartDV’s USB Type-C VIP empowers verification teams to validate USB-C interface behavior in smartphones, laptops, docking stations, chargers, and embedded systems.
