Ethernet 1G TSN MAC
Design IP
Overview

SmartDV’s Ethernet 1G TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) MAC IP Core is a silicon-proven, high-reliability solution purpose-built for time-critical applications such as industrial Ethernet, automotive networks, and smart grid infrastructure. It combines standard Gigabit Ethernet functionality with advanced TSN features to guarantee low-latency and deterministic data delivery.

The IP core complies with IEEE 802.3 and integrates key TSN capabilities, including time-aware traffic scheduling (IEEE 802.1Qbv), frame preemption (IEEE 802.1Qbu/802.3br), and precise time synchronization (IEEE 802.1AS). Additional features include VLAN support, traffic shaping, and error handling mechanisms.

Designed for flexibility, the IP core is highly configurable to meet specific design requirements, supporting both ASIC and FPGA implementations while optimizing for area, power, and performance. With successful silicon deployments, the 1G TSN MAC IP is ideal for systems that demand both high throughput and real-time responsiveness.
